I spent two weeks in the children's orphanage in Chang Mai and it was the best experience of my life.

The culture and atmosphere that you receive within this city is incredible. The city is by far one of the most beautiful and interesting places I have been in my life so far.

Pratchwt is an incredible woman who was exceptionally helpful throughout my whole stay. She helped me to feel at home within this lovely community. Without her my time in Chang Mai would not be the same.

I could not have felt safer or more at ease during my time here. All the locals are so helpful and lovely. They are some of the nicest people I have met in my travels.

I'll be back again soon :) xoxox

My daughter is volunteering in Chiang Mai right now. She is signed up for two weeks. She already spent her first week related to the elephant camp activities and started volunteering in the orphanage in Chiang Mai. It was easy to register, pay, and communicate with the organizers. I happened to come along and got an opportunity of volunteering in the school for blind children teaching English to blind kids.
The hotel is very clean and nice and located right in the Old Town. We flew from Washington DC, through Bangkok and planing to come back to BKK for 10 days. It is safe and the coup which happened in Thailand a couple of weeks ago does not affect every day life, and it is safe to be in Thailand Chiang Mai and Bangkok.
I would highly recommend this program because the lady who is in charge here is very organized and takes care of people very nicely.

WLS international asked me to pay in advance 200$ in advance for booking my volunteer program . Because i did not pay the overdue sum of money on the time, ie before 6 weeks in advance of my arrival date they canceled my program with no refund, with out any kind remind. I tried to replied them back, their mail info@gapyearinasia.com is no more available. they inform that they are a non profit organazation , but they have a benefit for one year of 130K GBP .
Just please becare ful to WLS INTERNATIONAL they do more business activity than a social one. ( they are listed as a travel agency) , you can have a look on they financial status on http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/

The volunteer program of WLS International in Cebu in the Philippines is an amazing program and a great way to help the local children and to get to know the local culture. The program helps and supports poor children and dumpsite children in a very meaningful and useful manner which really makes a difference in the lives of these children. Some of these children depend on these projects to get education and proper meals. The support of WLS International was just perfect with great support from the coordinator. I would highly recommend to join this volunteering program with WLS International in Cebu.

I had a wonderful experience with WLS International during my 2 week program in Chiang Mai this past January. I initially signed up for 2 weeks of volunteering in the Vieng Ping Children's Home in Chiang Mai city, but I ended up doing much more than that. I did spend time at the orphanage in the city, but I was also given the opportunity to visit Kingdom Kids (a daycare for children with special needs), a monk school, and also changed my plans to participate in the elephant camp program. It was such an amazing experience due only to the efforts of the outstanding country volunteer coordinator, Prachit. From the moment you are picked up at the airport, you have not a thing to worry about. All the issues of accommodations, volunteering, and transportation are settled and organized. I had the flexibility to make changes in my plans and Prachit was there to promptly assist me whenever I needed her. She went well and beyond for each volunteer to ensure that they were satisfied with their program arrangements and at the same time having a good time. Even though it was the busy season of volunteering, Prachit was always accessible to volunteers. I appreciated her telling us where our money goes when we signed up for the programs, it was nice to see that at least some of the fees were going back to the organizations. She genuinely cared for the organizations and wanted volunteers to see beyond the exterior of each place. All in all, it was an experience of a life time! I met numerous remarkable individuals locally and from all over the world, got to see Thailand from a different perspective, and made memories that will last a life time. I would do another program in Thailand in a heartbeat and I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to volunteer abroad in the land of smiles.
