My trip with Visions was amazing. I went on the Visions Montana Blackfeet and I learned so much from my leaders. All my leaders were kind and willing to help each individual. I never got bored once on this trip and I met great people from all around the world. They made every aspect of the trip memorable and unique and I'm grateful to have been part of this program.

Hey Guys!
My name's Jacob Rosen and I have done 3 Vision's programs. I started in 9th grade and am now going on my 4th program as a senior (in Highschool). I have done the Alaska, Nicaragua, and Peru programs. This summer I am going to Cambodia.
I have never found a better program that involves alll the aspects of the fun of traveling and the rewarding feeling of community service. The thing about the community service though is that it is very hard labor. I know most people think community service is picking up trash or hanging with elderly but here on visions you do some real building. From concrete work to carpentry projects like building roofs for cabins you really get the experience of hard work. That being said it isn't painful and debilitating! It's an incredible experience because you work side by side with local builders. The spanish programs allow you to practice your spanish with the local builders and they are usually younger guys so you make lasting friendships. Also, on the weekends the program plans out INCREDIBLE exploration days to see the local area, immerse yourself in the culture, and experience the local landmarks. I have truly seen the most beautiful sights in my entire life on visions. I hiked to the top of Macchu Picchu in Peru and have hiked/ ice climbed on a glacier in Alaska.
Im very open and friendly and LOOOOVE sharing my experiences. I can fill you in on details about the daily life inside the house and the other little details I didnt mention. Feel free to email me at Rosenj@ewsdmail.org or add me on facebook where we can then video chat. My facebook is Jacob Rosen.
I’ve worked multiple programs with VISIONS and plan on working more in the future! VISIONS is an incredible program that focuses on community involvement and teaches students the importance of teamwork and the value in hard work- all while having fun, making memories and learning about a different culture. My favorite thing about working with VISIONS is seeing children grow and learn in the short amount of time they are at a program. There is so much excitement in completing a project on their own, and so much happiness in making a difference in the community they are living in. The sense of confidence and accomplishment they feel after completing a project is absolutely amazing! The hands on work and interaction with the community teaches students so much! Students get a different view of life- it is something they cannot learn at school while sitting in a classroom. VISIONS makes a positive impact in students’ lives and as a VISIONS staff leader I am honored to be part of that!
I have now done two VISIONS trips and can say that VISIONS is very clear about its goal. Community service. This is what I had really wanted to do, so I really enjoyed it. If you are not looking for intense work though, I would say VISIONS is probably not for you. That's not to say that the days were long, hard, and I wanted to go home. The work sites were fun! We got to know many community members and it I could often see the difference we were making. After the workdays and on the weekends we would do lots of other fun things including touristy things, workshops with community members, and just enjoying being in another country. By the end of the trips I had made lots of good friends and amazing memories. Walking around the town for the last time I realized that it felt like i really lived there for the time I spent there. Also my Spanish improved a lot on the Spanish speaking trip.
I had such a good trip with Visions to the DR! I loved every minute of it and I want to do another trip next summer. We did so much with the locals that I felt a real sense of community. I would definitely recommend Visions to anyone!
