I think that the program is definitely beneficial to the development of the kids that attend. It was truly a lovely place to volunteer. The area in Jaipur was very nice to live in for two weeks. Everyone was very friendly. As mentioned the kids were great I think I will miss them. For accommodation and food I will give 10/10!!! Accommodation and food was really very good. I actually like the fact that no a/c is provided during the day time, it made me feel proud to live an environmental friendly life. I love Sankalp staff members, so nice, so passionate. Definitely I will recommend to others.

I just love this program, and also India. I will be back for sure to see those amazing kids and my dear friends. When I was in India I was not sure what I am leaning and getting from this, but after I came back home just for a few days, I realized that I changed a lot. Not only my skin got a lot of beautiful sunshine, but also my heart. I learned how to get used to a totally unknown place, how to settle on the difficulties, how to be patience and most importantly how to love.

Sankalp (Shake Hand) not only provides a comfortable and welcoming environment for volunteers but also a safe and friendly home. We were be able to interact with locals and experience the local tradition Indian culture. Just 18 years old, I found teaching street children at first very challenging but Sankalp hired a local teacher as a translator which helped us make further progress with the street children. Thank you Sankalp for the rewarding and inspiring experience!

I found this organisation by accident and only via this website (abroadreviews) did I actually really believe in it. The communication between Sankalp and myself was prompt and concise and even with the time difference I never felt like I was being left in the dark. They were willing to tailor a program to my needs and I was able to enjoy two weeks of volunteering and one week of travel around India with them. The other volunteers from across the globe came from different backgrounds but it was refreshing to know that we were all in India for the same reason.

The housing was comfortable and food was plenty, we lived 2 mins from a shop and always felt safe and secure. With a western toilet and a showered ensuite room that was air conditioned you really couldn't ask for more in the summer heat.

The kids are amazing considering the circumstances and always ready each morning with a huge smile and hug.

The support staff were friendly and supportive.

The trip around India was lovely including the three day Trek in the Himalayas. As with any experience it's really what you make of the situation you are in. I had a wonderful time and looking forward to going back again as soon as I can.

Remember its Not what you gather, it's what you scatter :)

Peace.

The program was great! I joined the program for three weeks. I enjoyed working with the kids and the employees were nice! The food and the accomodation was nice. The volunteer program and the trip have been a good experience and I'll never forget it.
