We spent one month in Sri Lanka in the city of Galle at Michael's place. We are two french girls and we choose the orphanage program. We spent a nice time there, working with the kids and the environment at home was great ! Food was awesome and Michael is always here to help you. It was a great experience to live with Michael's family and the other volunteer. I hope i will be able to come back next year or the year after !

This was our first trip to Sri Lanka and as volunteers we were made to feel extremely welcome. Both our host family and the orphanage we help in have created some everlasting memories.

Our placement was at Galle, beside the breaking waves of the Indian Ocean. Michael and the rest of his family were a delight to be part of . Together with other volunteers from Australia, USA, France and Denmark we became one big happy family.
. Bushba (Michael's wife) was a superb House Mum who introduce us to many of the local culinary surprises, not to mention the refreshing Ceylon tea..
The Orphanage itself truly made us appreciate the up bringing and opportunities we both have had. Having said that, the children are a great example of smiling, laughter and genuine love. They are so responsive and the hardest part is saying goodbye.
It was nice to leave however, knowing that the children are very well cared for and one can only pray that the future will be good for them.

An amazing experience and one we would recommend to anybody. Age is no barrier..... Go For It and Thank you New Hope

We had a wonderful time in Cusco, Peru volunteering with New Hope. Our host family was AMAZING! They were friendly and accommodating, and one spoke great English. The program coordinator was helpful in getting us to the places we needed to be and explaining where help was needed. She even helped us book taxis and other excursions in Peru. The area felt safe and our volunteer schedule allowed us enough time to explore Cusco on our own and take Spanish classes.I would definitely recommend this program to anyone looking to travel abroad and volunteer with children.

I really enjoyed my time in Sri Lanka. Michael and his family made me feel safe, the other volunteers were really nice and the food was delicious. The work at the orphanage was quite hard but we had loads of free time in the afternoons for example to go to the beach. Volunteering in Sri Lanka was a good experience!
