International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ)

volunteered in Ubud, Bali for a total of 7 weeks. It was such an awesome and life-changing experience where I got to learn so much about the Balinese culture and lifestyle, but also grow so much as a person. I helped out as a kindergarten teacher for 4 weeks. Every day I would have a little lesson planned for the kids; I would handout some worksheets, play games with them and be there for their breakfast/lunch. The kids were so loving and full of energy! I loved being by their side every single day and see their beautiful smiles :) I miss my class a lot, they truly have a special place in my heart. I also volunteered on the turtle conservation program while in Bali. It was amazing to live alongside locals and help out with an environmental cause on a daily basis. At the turtle centre I got to clean turtle tanks, feed and clean the turtles and I even got to experience a turtle release while I was there. It was such an emotional experience to get to set a turtle free and bring her back to her natural habitat. On top of helping with the turtles, we also did beach and street cleaning. I would 100% recommend IVHQ and the Bali program, it was an experience I will never forget!!

Spent two weeks at the turtle conservation program in Bali on the island of Nusa Penida. My only regret is that I didn't stay longer. IVHQ did an amazing job organising the trip and getting me in contact with the Green Lion partner organisation before I left. They answered all questions quickly and provided modules to prepare for the trip and make it easier. I was nervous since it was my first trip alone, but I loved it and plan to return this year.
As for Bali itself it is a lovely place. The locals are extremely friendly and after a day you feel like you've known the coordinators and other volunteers for your whole life. Taking care of the turtles was a unique experience, especially releasing one on my last day there. The accommodation is lovely (Class House), and so is the food. The beach is just a two minute walk away, and there's a medical centre right next to the accommodation in case of an emergency. Even the stray animals are very friendly (no they don't bite) and probably one of my favourite parts of the trip.

I volunteered in the English Teaching Program in Bali for 9 weeks. It was an amazing experience; one that I will remember for the rest of my life.
Not only do you meet a lot of people but you meet a lot of different types of people, people from countries you might not even heard of! And you quickly realize that no matter how 'different' they may seem at first, you actually share more similarities than differences with them. And learning that was one of the highlights from this whole experience.
Time goes by really fast so if I could provide a word of advice, try to stay as long as you can, because trust me, that still won't be enough!
After spending nine weeks in Bali, I felt like I was a part of Bali and that Bali was a part of me and so, the most difficult part about this trip was having to say goodbye.
If you're thinking about going, just GO! You'll only regret it if you don't!

International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ)

I spent 5 weeks volunteering in a kindergarten and primary school in Lovina, Bali. This time would have to be the most memorable and rewarding 5 weeks of my life. I would consider myself well travelled person who has experienced many different cultures, but living in Lovina I was able to truly immerse myself in the local life and culture and I could not be more grateful for this opportunity. I chose to volunteer with International Volunteer HQ because it is an organisation that runs sustainable and positive projects that have been implemented for the greater good of these communities, as well as being highly affordable, which will allow me to continue travelling and hopefully do more volunteer work with them further down the track. I have met so many people from all over the world and I can truely say I’ve made friends for life. Being a tourism volunteer program, IVHQ gave me the opportunity to have an incredible balance of work and play. In my 5 weeks I got to see so much of Bali and surrounding islands as well as feeling like I was doing worthwhile work at the same time.

My experience in Lovina, Bali was amazing. It was very rewarding and extremely rich in emotions.
I have many good memories and I wish I could have stayed longer.
Working with children was a unique experience. I learned a lot about Balinese culture and their values.
The coordinators really supervised us and made sure that our experience took place in the best conditions. In addition, the coordinators always brought me very quick answers to my questions.
I think this adventure is interesting for anyone looking to help others but also to take time to be. Indeed, Lovina was the perfect place to relax and enjoy Balinese life.

I was able to organize my adventure as a volunteer in Lovina with the IVHQ association. I highly recommend this association which helped me to find the program that suited me best.

I volunteered with IVHQ in Bali, doing the healthcare education program & my experience was beyond amazing. While preparing to go, IVHQ was of great help & support, the online guide had more than enough information, & whenever I had a question, my program manager was always there to help. The local staff in Bali were just as supportive, I felt so safe in their care. The accommodation was really nice, the house was beautiful, we had a daily cleaning service, the food was amazing, we had Western options as well as traditional Indonesian options. My placement was good too, I got to work with amazing people, & I made lots of friends there. I definitely recommend volunteering with IVHQ, cause they made my trip to Bali so worthwhile, & so much fun

Elective International

Hello all,

My name is Christina and i am here to write a review on my Dental program in Yogyakarta with Elective International. I was on a 4 week dental program from 5/11/2018 - 2/12/2018.

Everyone that asks me wants to know mainly about how the food was, the hospital was good or not, doctors helpful or not, mentor, the accommodation was safe and nice, and was the WIFI working properly.

Let me just say to sum it up, i learned more about Dentistry then i would have in another other location for my Elective i had done in the past. I was also made to present my on my personal topic to a panel of doctors and chiefs. We also went out and had a medical camp in a rural village. I had such a wonderful time!.

Now for the logistical part. I was picked up from the airport on time, my accommodation was a guest house which was lovely cause i was around other international students too, plus i got my own room!! Indonesian food was delicious and i had a feast every day!! Yes the Wifi was brilliant, cause my mum didn't complain once about it when i facetimed her!.

Yogakrata is such a beautiful city, and people are really nice there. The mentors i had were sooo friendly and really made my stay there for comfortable!

So yes i would recommend it to anyone that is interested in their Dental or even medical elective there!!! I would def say that for the price i paid, i got complete value for my buck!!
