I am living with an amazing Fijian family where the mother of the house insists on being called “Mumu”. Mumu is always cheerful – laughing constantly. This not just my Fijian family but all Fijians who are willing to take as much time out of their day to help you out, no matter what you need. I never go hungry, with plenty of tasty food to eat for breakfast, lunch and supper.
The volunteer teachers are making great progress with their classes and have found that they are not only teaching but being taught by the children with their enthusiasm to learn and for sharing their culture that they are so proud of.
The sport coaches broke boundaries and gave an entire primary school of girls their first EVER opportunity to play and compete in football. The resounding response of interest from the girls has meant that the volunteers are able to put a proposal together to open up a holiday football club in August.
The medical Volunteers have recently completed their health screening of Suva and are currently investigating the results. These results will then be prepared to be presented to the ministry of health.
With over 10 articles and numerous number of photos published with their name by-lined the journalist have report on all manner of subjects ranging from activity at the American embassy, court cases, new education policy and natural disasters.
