Global Leadership Adventures (GLA)

Going to the Dominican Republic with Global Leadership Adventures was such an amazing experience. The staff was super helpful. The food is amazing but I would also bring snacks from home like granola bars. Also there is no wifi but the staff will help you keep in touch with your parents. Also make sure to bring a battery powered fan because it does get super hot. The DR home base does have outlets so you can charge your phone.

Discover Corps

Our family (2 parents, and kids ages 10 and 12) participated in Discover Corps in the Dominican Republic in late March 2016. Our experience was simply wonderful. We loved everything about this trip: the beautiful setting, the projects we worked on, and getting to know the other people on the trip. Members of the staff were very knowledgeable, kind and fun. They were eager to teach us about the Dominican Republic and its history. The opportunity for our family to work alongside others on meaningful projects in a Dominican village was priceless. Our accommodations were comfortable and the food was delicious. In short, we HIGHLY recommend Discover Corps.

Global Leadership Adventures (GLA)

I attended the 10 day Beach-Side Service Adventure in the Dominican Republic last summer with Global Leadership Adventures. We stayed in a rustic lodge built by locals. We had running water and home cooked meals three times a day. There was a pool at home base, and we were also right across the street from the ocean. Each day, we took a private bus to different service sites or daytime excursions, and each night we had a leadership discussion.

Visions Service Adventures

Visions is the best way anyone could spend a summer. From my two summers with visions, I learned and loved more than I did in all of my 6 years at camp. When I returned home from Visions, my perceptions were different, my personality was different, I was different. This program is something very special that if you let it, can truly impact you. SO GO ON IT!!!! You will not regret it.
