After doing some extensive research I chose to study at Oxford TEFL Prague, learning that it’s the only accredited course in Prague that offers Trinity Certificate in TESOL. (Trinity TESOL qualifications are widely recognized by employers around the world.) When I made the decision to become a certified English teacher, I was excited but mostly nervous. Even though I’ve been using English a great portion of my life, being a non-native speaker a part of me felt that I wasn’t the most appropriate person to be instructing English. In addition, I had doubts that a four-week course could genuinely help someone become a “well-rounded” teacher. To my great relief, Oxford TEFL Prague, with it’s highly qualified trainers and cozy atmosphere, helped me release all my anxieties and ease into the process of becoming a language instructor. The course was very intense, but it prepared me well. I’ve gained insights into many different teaching tools and methodologies and I had plenty of opportunity for hands-on teaching practice with real students. I went into the course feeling insecure but came out a confident and self-sufficient certified English teacher. Within a few weeks of graduation I received several job offers, and currently I’m working at different language schools, teaching students of varying ages and levels, and I love it. Oxford TEFL Prague is the best! I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get a TESOL/TEFL certificate.

If you're interested in living and teaching abroad and not sure how to get started then this program is the right one for you! I took the TEFL course at the Language House this past May and I couldn't be happier with the opportunity it has given me to be able to live and work in Prague. The course itself was well structured and the staff was very helpful. I was a little nervous about packing everything up and moving to a foreign country where I had never been before but because of the strong network and community the Language House has full of past graduates it was a lot easier to make connections with those inside and outside of the course I completed. If you're looking for an adventure and chance to live abroad, I highly recommend the Language House in Prague!

Choosing to earn my TEFL certificate from The Language House was one of my smartest decisions. Not only was I fully prepared for teaching with 12 hours of teaching practice with real English learners, I was given practicle adivce on how to make it living abroad: visas, appartments, jobs just to name a few things. I couldn't recomend The Language House more.

If I could give someone wanting to teach abroad one piece of advice, it would be to start your journey with TLH in Prague. Without a doubt, I would recommend this course to anyone wanting to take a break from the average and embark on a career teaching English abroad. The month was intensive and at times challenging, but when the month was over I felt more than prepared to take on the TEFL job market. Not only does the Language House prepare you to teach abroad, their staff makes sure that you have all of the tools needed to live and work in the Czech Republic. The staff leaves no questions unanswered and works tirelessly to ensure that they meet whatever needs you might have.

I received my TEFL certification through The Language House and could not be happier with my decision. The course provided me with the skills, knowledge and confidence necessary to be an effective English teacher. The instructors were there to support me every step of the way and remain a valuable resource even after completion of the program. I should also mention The Language House provides hours of hands on teaching experience during the course. I would strongly recommend The Language House to anyone considering teaching abroad.

I joined the The Language House’s TEFL program March this year, and it is one of the best decisions I've made in my life. Now that I'm six months in, living and working happily in Prague, I really have The Language House to thank for. Chris Westergaard and all of the trainers really care a lot about their trainees, and the amount of work that you put into it really pays off. This is an amazing program with amazing instructors. My wife and I both did this program, and they made us feel comfortable from day one. They were available to answer all of our questions before, during, and after the course. The staff is knowledgable, funny, and really push you to your full potential. My wife and I both taught Elementary and Middle School in America, and we were blown away by the methodology and general teaching strategies. Not only did we learn how to become successful TEFL teachers living abroad, but we learned how to be better teachers in any setting. Their job assistance was also extremely helpful - we both had jobs by the third week of the course. We recommend this to everyone!

This program was very benificial. I will say it was very intense though! It is not for the weak. You are in a new country and taking a college level course that has been condensed down into one month. After that warning I would still reccomended that if you contemplating this course you should do it. The staff are supportive and helpful. The teachers and observers help you fine tune your teaching skills. There is a large community of support. After you take the course here in Prague you can go almost anywhere in the world and find fellow Language House grads to connect with. I was not a teacher before I came here but I feel I am able to go out and teach English as a foreign language now.

The course is really intensive and demands a full immersion in the process which is not an issue because you will find it interesting, enjoyable and extremely useful for your future job. You will learn what it feels like to be in the shoes of an unknown language student and that despite not being able to speak a word in the target language the students will still be able to understand the teacher and learn successfully. It helps a lot in the teaching practice because you stop distancing yourself from your students and prior to using any material or technique at the lesson you first try it on yourself and see what difficulties your students may encounter and how to overcome them making your lesson as motivating and effective as possible.
You will find that your students and you yourself can be the greatest resource to create the best language lesson where your students will be willing to speak and enjoy using the language in the classroom and you will feel satisfied to realize that now they are confident with the language you have taught them to use it outside the classroom. You will get acquainted with various teaching methods and techniques which will save you a lot of time while planning your lessons and rescue you in a tricky situation in the classroom. You will understand that this wide range of English textbooks is a good resource but they are not necessarily what YOUR students need and you will learn how to vary and adapt the materials for the needs of your students or even create your own ones. You will definitely improve your own language awareness and start to identify the difficulties of the language you may encounter teaching your students and how to cope with them teaching with pedagogical approach focusing on the use of the language and its main function i.e. communication.
I was honored to be taught by such great teacher trainers from OxfordTefl as David Young, Sinead Laffan, Sean Hayward and Adrian Marriot. Being highly professional and efficient they remain so human in the classroom that even being corrected it never feels like criticism , more like a great support of my senior and experienced friends. Overall I really enjoyed the course very much and would recommend anyone interested to go for it. I wish I could do it again! )) But life goes on and now it is the time to practice everything I have learnt there! Being a teacher is a hard but gratifying job definitely worth the efforts you put into it. You find you are happy when you see and hear your students speaking the language confidently or they tell you how successfully they use it at work or in the daily life.

I was really impressed with this course, it's a great way to get into teaching English. I had no experience at all before coming to Prague but this program set me up with everything I needed to teach and plan lessons. The instructors here are all experienced teachers themselves and I felt like I was learning from the best. The support in coming out here and finding a place to stay was also really well thought through, I didn't really need to do anything other than get on the plane, they even picked me up from the airport.
As an added bonus I was offered a job with the school after graduating and decided to stay in Prague. The atmosphere here is lively but very professional and I couldn't be happier with my choice. Prague is also an awesome city to study in, the architecture is stunning and there's loads to do and see on the weekends, if you're into beer then there is no better place to be!
