Frontier

Terrible company that treat their staff awfully and treat their volunteers like cash cows. They ask staff to write fake reviews all over the internet. For profit company that do not re-invest in sites or equipment, do not invest in staff, poor communication from head office ran by interns, thus a very high staff turnover, camps like basic holiday camps, scientific programs a joke. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Frontier

DO NOT USE FRONTIER - UNETHICAL SCAM

I worked for Frontier as a staff member on the Madagascar project until evacuating under the advice of the UK embassy in April due to Covid-19. Frontier then refused to pay mine or my colleagues contractual wages and flight contributions once we had got back to the UK. I had worked for them in-field for 4 months and had received less than 1 month's pay. We each also had to cover the high cost of the evacuation ourselves.
Furthermore, mine and one of my colleagues' personal camera equipment was stolen in-field by one of the camp security guards hired by Frontier, for which I received no sympathy, support or compensation from Frontier.
This supposedly-paying job, which I had hoped would kick-start my career in marine biology and diving, has instead left me severely out of pocket and feeling taken advantage of by Frontier.
I urge all prospective employees and volunteers to avoid this unethical company. Do not fall for the marketing, Frontier is a scam!

Globalteer

Our daughter's trip to Peru to volunteer was preempted because of the global pandemic. Globalteer refused to grant a refund, nor did they offer an alternative. We were simply put off by the manager who told us that we should seek recompense through travelers insurance. While they may be a very reputable organization, their handling of this was less than professional, and for that reason, I would recommend that people look deep into the organizations they are willing to help. We will from now on.

Green Life Volunteers

I can say that volunteering at the turtle conservation project was one of the most extraordinary experiences of my life. I stayed 3 weeks in Nombre de Jesus and it went beyond my expectations, all the people who work at Green Life Volunteers were very kind, since my arrival in San Jose, as at the project.
I worked directly with Ravier, coordinator of the project, and Gerardo, assistant at the time and we had a very good coexistence in these 3 weeks, it was possible to notice their knowledge of the subject when it comes to turtles, I learned a lot.
I really recommend the project to any volunteer, besides the knowledge and gratification that you will get, I've still had the luck to meet other amazing volunteers from all over the world. It was amazing and I consider being a volunteer again in the future.
