I truly loved these past two weeks, my home stay family was incredibly welcoming and always eager to help in any way. The food and comfort of the house was fantastic, and I learned so much the first week about culture, history and language. The second week working at the orphanage and probation center was something that will always stay with me, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be with the children and have that experience. Thank you for making us feel at home in your houses!

This was great experience, both families made us feel at home while creating wonderful volunteering opportunities around Galle. Visiting the orphanage and teaching the monks were fun, challenging, and rewarding tasks. The monks were awesome kids with lots of curiosity and the kids were full of energy. The food in and out of the house was all amazing too. The town also offers endless places to explore such as the dutch fort and all the beaches.

This was an amazing experience being able to work with the kids in the orphanage and the monks. I was really able to make a difference in their lives and learn more about what they go through everyday. Micheal made sure that all are needs were met and never hesitated to help make us feel comfortable. The home stays were incredible, being able to live with a traditional Sri Lankan family was a life changing experience. Eating Delicious Sri Lankan local food was a highlight and being able to connect with the families was great. Overall was an incredible experience!

This was my first time in Sri Lanka and I have not been disappointed. Michael made sure everyone had everything they needed. I stayed with Michael's daughter in her and her family's beautiful home and I immediately felt like I was apart of the family. The language lessons our first week with Michael were really helpful and the afternoon excursions to the safari, batik factory, and other places around Sri Lanka was so cool. Our last week with Michael and his family was spent volunteering at an orphanage and teaching young monks. Spending time with these little ones has been my favorite part since coming to Sri Lanka. They're smiles and laughter will melt anyone's heart. I recommend this program to anyone who wants to stay with an amazing family, volunteer at great organizations, and see the beauty of Sri Lanka.

Our group was warmly welcomed from day one with support and kindness. Micheal and his family had made themselves available to support our needs in whatever ways possible. Our introduction to Sri Lanka was filled with different site seeing, historical lessons, exploration of the local towns and morning classes that debriefed Sri Lankan culture and the countries language. I felt as if everyday I learned something that I would be taking with me to the next day. There was also plenty of free time woven into everyday that was helpful to get academic work done and to explore the local beaches and cities. Our second week was spent working with a government based orphanage and enrichment center for girls who have been court order to be there. It was such a privileged to be able to offer my support in anyway that these places could need it, and to see the impact that was created by bringing our own curriculum, games, and innovative ideas. The opportunity to volunteer is a good chance to be creative in your own ways to work with children and young women from a different culture. Within the language barrier there is a challenge to find activities that can best serve their needs and many ways one could do so. This being my first time in Sri Lanka, these past weeks have held space for historical lessons, cultural immersion, service and space available to explore the surrounding areas individually.
