All programs are trademark of their respective companies. The information on this site does not necessarily reflect the views or opinions of AbroadReviews.com.

Be very careful traveling in Africa alone. Try Rustic Volunteer Travel. They are pretty good and have employees _African_ in Africa that help you.
It is very possible to volunteer in Africa and enjoy. There are very many volunteer organizations on the grassroots where your time and money can be put into very good use.Let me know if you are still interested and safety issues are their number one priority.
Hi
SASTS is a South African organisation, we are a true NOT FOR profit organisation, we have been around since 1972.
Please feel free to drop us an email on enquires@sasts.org.za and we will hopefully be able to place you at a project in the Cape Town Area.
Regards
Don't you think that an international organisation would be better? I'm not an expert, but i think, that i would trust more the international organization. Don't you have any opportunity on your collage/school?
I can highly reccomand to travel directly to the Organizations or volunteer through sending Organizations that work directly with the target group you will volunteer with.

or contact well known donors in your own country. They evaluate their projects so they will be well awaere about what knid of projects they reccomand you.
There are many reasons, why it is good to avoid the big companies, Volunteerism has become a big business and most companies do not anything about the impact they have:

check out international volunteers initiatives its a local organisation based in East Africa. Its very good i once volunteered with them.
Hi Carmencita,
If you really want to find an affordable (not the ones who shout out that they are the most affrodable while charging a registration fee of US$ 300), you should look for local international volunteer organization based in a developing countries. Most of other providers are mainly profit-oriented traveling companies based in First World nations. Local organizations work directly with partner organizations in the respective countries; there is no placement/ travel agency in between and their overheads are lower. Do not be afraid, just run a research over the Internet to be sure they are real. You will have a safe, rewarding and affordable volunteer experience.
