This was my first international experience and it was nothing short of perfect! My placement was in my professional field and I enjoyed going to work everyday and had many meaningful interactions. I was there for only a week but I feel like the program was packed full of volunteer, and cultural experiences. There were trips almost everyday after work that allowed me to see beautiful sites and meet local people.
The staff members were truly helpful, informative, passionate, and caring. I appreciated feeling like I was able to talk to them about any concerns, and I felt no pressure to do anything that I may not have wanted to do. We were provided with fantastic meals, and accommodations that were basic, but comfortable. They were a much needed support system and made Ghana feel like a home away from home.
Overall wonderful experience that I would recommend to anyone. It was worth more than the cost! A volunteer experience that felt like I received more than I gave : )

I have volunteered with CCS three times, in Morocco, India (the Palampur location) and Russia. Each time I was openly welcomed, felt supported, and felt I made an impact on those around me. Furthermore, each experience most certainly impacted me and I was able to bring different perspectives back to the United States and share them with my friends, family, co-workers, and students. I would highly recommend this program and intend to continue volunteering with them as time passes.

Hello, I have been looking at CCS for volunteering abroad. I have been looking at the three places you have been too. Which did you enjoy the best and what did you do at each site? Thanks for your time, Jackie

It was an awesome experience.

The staff is great especially Vini, LuLu and FernGully

I really recommend going.

I was there for 3 months and it was well worth it.

Its hard to put into words the experience youll get, so I think you should try it for yourself.

Salvador is a second home for me now.

Cross Cultural Solutions in Delhi, India offers you an experience in life that will remain with you long after your departure. The program is filled with challenges, fun, meaningful cultural exchanges , all the time stretching your boundaries beyond what you perceived was possible. The organization is well run, organized, cares about your health , safety, and your experience all of which you would hope to be true but listening to other volunteers that have had unpleasant and /or unsafe experiences with other organizations I was thrilled I chose Cross Cultural Solutions as they are as reputable on site as they advertise to be.
Along with the volunteer experience, getting to know the staff was one of the joys of the experience .Don't hesitate sign up now -- you will be so thankful that you took that step as you get much more than you give. I did it for 3 months and I would go again in a heartbeat !!!
P.S. I never write reviews so that should tell you something.

I cannot believe it has been 6 years since I volunteered in Salvador, Brazil. I think about the children and the school I worked in everyday and I always dream of going back. I signed up for 10 weeks initially but in my first week was already making plans to extend my stay. i ended up volunteering for another month and didn't leave brazil for another month after that! And even then i wasn't ready to come home and leave such a wonderful country with the most beautiful, happy and friendly people I have still yet to meet anywhere else. If anyone were to have concerns about volunteering in a country they haven't visited before, don't speak the language and are perhaps travelling alone there is no need to worry with CCS. From the contact you receive once you have signed up, to pick up at the airport, to being supported and part of the CCS family throughout your stay, you are never alone and you are always supported and made to feel at home. volunteering for CCS is an experience that really no one can really understand unless they have shared that experience. Because of that the staff and your fellow volunteers become your family. I am still friends with the amazing people I volunteered with and always be. The experience will never leave you. I had no idea what to expect work wise and i was surprised to learn that the working day lasted only til lunch time and then you have the afternoons todo as you like. i worked in a junior school in a classroom of 30 odd 1-3 year olds. i cant begin to describe what I got out of this, but leaving the children on my last day was one of the hardest and saddest things i have ever had to do. I always hoped that they got something out of me, its hard to tell, but if you are making them smile and laugh then you hope you are. Aside from volunteering there is then the greatest experience of Brazil itself. beaches, islands, boat trips, music, beach parties, the list is endless. CCS also organise some great trips. my only regret is that i didn't do all of them. If you are thinking of volunteering in Brazil my advice is don't sit and think about doing it one day. Just do it. When i think back i am always still surprised how easy it all was to organise. Just to it and sign up for something you will have forever. don't sit and regret not doing it.
