Action Volunteer Alliance (AVA) and Next Generation Youth Force (NGYF) organized my entire volunteer placement very well. I felt that my transition into their program went smoothly. I was happy with how often AVA and NGYF contact me prior the trip to Ghana to ensure I have everything ready and also during the program to check on me and see how I’m doing. I really enjoyed my 6 weeks volunteer in Ghana. All of people are truly amazing! AVA and NGYF gave me amazing rich experiences at a deaf school in Ghana. Both of AVA and NGYF constant support me throughout the program well. I was really happy and satisfied with AVA and NGYF. I wish I stay there longer than 6 weeks. I miss everybody already and been thinking of them often. I definitely would go back there someday in future and recommend others to join AVA/NGYF program! They are awesome!

Volunteering in Nepal was easily the best decision I ever made and working with AVA was so great for me because it was tailored for what exactly I wanted with the opportunity. I wanted an honest experience. I believe it was honest because I ate the same food that the locals ate, I washed my clothes the way they do etc. Not much was made easier for me because I was a volunteer, however if I had any problems everyone tried to help me out to the best of their abilities. I also had a ton of free time, so with that I got to know some locals outside of the organization so I exposed myself to even more of the Nepalese experience. One of the locals I became close with invited me to many Newari holidays that I otherwise wouldn't have been able to attend. Lastly and most importantly, I loved my placement. I worked at a school and an orphanage and the kids were fantastic. FANTASTIC. I still miss them everyday.

Overall, so amazing. I recommend it for anyone at any point in their life. :)

Volunteering through AVA in Nepal for 3 and a half months was one of the best decisions of my life. AVA was so helpful in preparing me for my trip by always answering my questions quickly and thoroughly. It was also one of the most affordable volunteer options available. Through their program I was set up with a fabulous host family and was able to work with a partner organization run by outstanding people. There are numerous opportunities through AVA such as teaching English and volunteering in a children's Home, which is what I was able to do. I loved the opportunity to teach and to get to know the children at the school and at the children's Home. The cultural immersion of living in Nepal was eye opening and life changing. Volunteering through AVA is a great way to learn a new culture and have the freedom to fully explore it. Not only does AVA provide a great opportunity, but they also strive to make it the best experience for you. I would recommend this organization to anyone!

I volunteered through Action Volunteer Alliance in Nepal for 3 1/2 months. I found AVA by Googling "volunteering abroad" and emailed them right away. I got a very quick response and they stayed in touch with me as I prepared to go, answering all my questions, helping me with travel paperwork and offering support. They were available and supportive the whole time I was in the country of Nepal, and very affordable. I would volunteer again with them anytime! Highly recommended!
