Original Volunteers

This was my first volunteering abroad trip ever. I was a little bit worry about traveling alone to volunteer but this all gone since I met the other enthusiastic lovely volunteers in Marrakech, Morocco.

Although my flights were delayed so many times, I did let them know about the changes, they were at the airport when I arrived to pick me up.

I spent two weeks with Original Volunteers in Morocco (August 28, 2017 to September 10, 2017) and it went so fast as if it was two days only.

I really enjoyed my time there.I loved the volunteering projects we did. We did the following activities:
- Cuddling and Playing with orphan kids in Baby Orphanage Centers
- Feeding homeless people.
- Painting old schools' walls for better children’s learning environments.
- Visiting villages to make children learning activities and games

Also, we spent our free time doing so much interesting things like:
Quad biking, waterfalls hike, and camel riding

Over the weekend, we stayed overnight at a barber house to learn how to cook some Moroccan dishes and mint-tea. In addition, we spent one night sleeping in the desert, the stars were so bright on the night it was really amazing.

At the end, basically, this trip is unforgettable as it is one of the best two weeks in my life. The other volunteers make my experience even greater. Original Volunteers coordinators were so friendly.

Thank you Original Volunteers!

The collections from the airport was well arranged, and very helpful in showing me where to exchange currency, having booked me a hotel room, and showing me around town. The project briefing was informative and clearly explained the main objectives of the project and how surveys were carried out.

The food and living conditions were much better than I expected and overall I had a brilliant time and thoroughly enjoyed my time on project.

I really enjoyed camp, the food and the relaxed lifestyle. The staff are great -
very friendly and helpful as are all the other volunteers. It has been great to mix with such a variety of different people.

International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ)

I have to confess it would be intimidating to volunteer abroad for the first time as a solo traveler, without the help and support from the program managers in IVHQ and the local coordinators.
For sure,Sri Lanka is the first foreign country I have ever been, the volunteering experience in this country was totally fantastic and memorable for me. I met bunches of volunteers from around the world who share the same passion for helping others and enjoying the foreign adventure. We tried our best to assist the locals to carry out the conservative projects and improve their quality of life.
If you ask me what did the volunteering experience bring to you, it would be not only the culture adventure and immersion, but the mental stretch and personal growth.

The organisation of the surveys were great – the staff all worked really hard to make sure the volunteers were prepared for their dives and that we conducted some worthwhile surveys. They also made sure we had fun whilst diving and made the surveys very enjoyable! My overall enjoyment of the project was very high! I loved living in the communal house, making shared meals and all chucking in to get things done. The group was fantastic and everyone had a great attitude to life in Beqa.
