Going to the Dominican Republic with Global Leadership Adventures was such an amazing experience. The staff was super helpful. The food is amazing but I would also bring snacks from home like granola bars. Also there is no wifi but the staff will help you keep in touch with your parents. Also make sure to bring a battery powered fan because it does get super hot. The DR home base does have outlets so you can charge your phone.

Global Leadership Adventures provides an amazing experience with the comfort of safety. I never doubted that I was safe and sound in the hands of my program leaders (I went on the Cultural Kaleidoscope program to Valencia, Spain) but I was also able to have the absolute time of my life. We volunteered at an amazing local school with thirty Spanish kids, teaching them English. In our down time we went on weekend excursions, walked around Valencia, and even went to a few concerts. GLA gave me an experience I'll never forget. Helping the kids with English gave us an opportunity to see Spanish culture up close and also to give the kids a window into our own culture. This was a trip I wouldn't trade for anything!! (you can find out more about the program I was on here: www . yelp. com /review_share/p34Ky4z56J9m3_jYD9-D8w/review/TA1aV9luabPcAu0bBFhdkw?ref=ce) Definitely recommend to travellers of all kind!

The cool thing about GLA is that unlike some of the other volunteer abroad companies, GLA values in also allowing the students to have a say so in what they want to do, so on top of being an extremely organized program they also get the students involved by allowing them to lead their own programs, hence Global LEADERSHIP adventures smile emoticon. I had a great time in each of the locations (Costa Rica, Thailand, and India) that I've traveled with them to, definitely would suggest them to people.

I truly wish there were words to adequately describe just how incredible my 3 week trip on the Ghana : Children of Africa program. It was without a doubt the best 21 days of my life. The experience will change students more than they could ever imagine and they will without a doubt never be the same.

My expectations going into the trip were extremely high, but they were more than surpassed. Everything about it was seemingly perfect - the service (teaching & building bricks), cultural activities, housing, food, and workshops. The relationships built are lifelong relationships- the mentors were insightful and more personable than I can describe and the bonds formed with them and especially with the other students are unique in the best way possible. Our group became a family very quickly and to this day they are still some of my greatest friends.

I cannot emphasize enough how highly I would recommend a Global Leadership Adventures trip. The growth that takes place inside of every single person is unimaginable until one actually experiences it. Every high school student NEEDS this experience (although they might not realize it beforehand).

Global Leadership Adventures is an absolutely amazing program which I would highly recommend to everyone. This past summer, I traveled to Ghana and had a fantastic time. I learned so much about the Ghanaians and their culture. The majority of our time was spent with the kids. We taught them at school in the mornings, followed by playing with them at the park for a few hours in the afternoon. We ate delicious foods, learned how to cook, and gained an insight on the Ghanaian culture. We were told old Ghanaian stories, spoke some words in Krobo, and even how to dance. Some days we went to the market, or to a local church. Other days we went hiking, explored waterfalls, and cruised down the Volta River. Overall, it was an adventure that I will never forget. I highly suggest for anyone interested to look into going on a trip with Global Leadership Adventures, as they won't regret it!
